For a healthy, optimal growth and a beautiful leaf colour, the bay tree requires natural food during the growth period. It is preferable to use a long-acting organic fertiliser with a high nitrogen content. It is best to fertilise the bay tree twice a year: the first time in April/May, the second time in July/August. During these periods, the plant grows the fastest and requires a lot of energy. The quantity of fertiliser depends on the volume of the pot and the size (age) of the plant.
